A REGULAR showcase event for independent Highland artists and artisans made a successful return at a new venue on the Black Isle.

Ordinarily markets are held at Eden Court and Urquhart Castle, but with both closed at the time, Wildwoodz, near Munlochy, was chosen for its first post-lockdown event on Sunday.

Acknowledging some issues with parking due to an exceptionally high demand, organisers said the day went well otherwise.

The event welcomed hundreds of visitors to browse and buy from more than 40 stalls selling everything from gin and cakes to woodwork and jewellery.

Organiser Kirsty Stewart said: “The high demand was unexpected and we were delighted with it. It was good to be open. We have been running events for about 15 years, and we have never done an event in this location before, but due to Covid-19 our normal venues are closed for now.

“We are planning to run another event on August 29/30. We will be looking at ways to make parking easier in the future.”
