Families and close contacts in Ullapool have been told to self isolate after a positive case has been linked to the town's primary school.

It is understood the case was identified late last week and track and trace have been in contact with close contacts, telling them to isolate for 10 days.

An NHS Highland spokesman said: "We are aware of a positive case linked to Ullapool Primary School.

"All close contacts have been identified and asked to self-isolate as per national guidance."

He continued: "The cases have risen very rapidly across Highland and Covid-19 is spreading within our communities. "Can we also take this opportunity to remind everyone that if you have symptoms of Covid you should immediately self-isolate and arrange a PCR test.

"If you test positive you should remain in isolation for a period of ten days.

"It is really important that we all continue to follow FACTS: wear a face covering, avoid crowded places, maintain two metres distance and self-isolate and book a test if you have symptoms.
