Police searching for a missing Shropshire man believe he may be in Inverness.

Christopher Jiggins, known as Jiggsy, has been missing from Church Stretton since Sunday October 29.

West Mercia Police issued an appeal for information on the 56-year-old’s whereabouts amid increasing concern for his well-being

They also released a CCTV image of the last confirmed sighting of him near a Family Shopper on Sandford Avenue, Church Stretton, just before 7.55 am on Monday October 30.

But police in the Highlands have now asked the Inverness public to be on the look-out for Mr Jiggins.

A tweet by Police Scotland Highlands and Islands said: “Christopher ‘Jiggsy’ Jiggins may have travelled to the Inverness area.”

He is described as white, well-built, bald and with a distinctive moustache.

He was last seen wearing camouflage clothing, shorts and boots and is known for wearing a hessian cape.

West Mercia DI Richard Davies, who is leading the search for Jiggsy, said: “We’re becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Jiggsy and would urge anyone who may have seen him to please get in touch.

“At this stage he could be anywhere in the country and we believe he may be living off-grid.

“Jiggsy, if you are reading this, then please get in touch to let us know you are okay.

“You’re not in any trouble and we can leave you be, once we know you are safe, if that’s what you want.”

Anyone with information can call Police Scotland on 101 or contact the Shrewsbury reactive CID team on 01743 237414 or email DL-F-ReactiveCIDShrewsbury@westmercia.police.uk.
