STRIKE action is set to disrupt some classes at the likes of Inverness College and the North Highland College.
The disruption is expected to take place today (Tuesday) and Wednesday and the colleges, which are part of the University of the Highlands and Islands, have urged their students to check their emails for updates on their specific courses.
The strike is being held by members of the EIS-Further Education Lecturers' Association (EIS-FELA).
It is understood that several other UHI sites across the Highlands, Moray and Perthshire are also affected.
EIS-FELA's strike action is part of a wider, ongoing national dispute "over the replacement of lecturers with poorer-paid, lower qualified staff".
Today and tomorrow's action follows an earlier two-day strike at the beginning of the month.
“We are disappointed this strike action is being taken at this difficult time and will try to minimise any impact,” said a spokesman for Inverness College UHI.
