A Muir of Ord pair have admitted being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Police stopped a car on the A9 outside Inverness at Daviot and it led to the discovery of cocaine worth up to £10,500.

But although officers only found a trace of the Class A narcotic in the Skoda on July 22, 2021, two of the vehicle's occupants later admitted they had concealed more of the drug internally.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that 63-year-old Carol Knox of Drover's Court and 55-year-old Calum Findlay of Broomhill Road, both Muir of Ord, were taken to Burnett Road police station in Inverness where they made their confessions.

Fiscal depute Susan Love told Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald that Findlay told officers he had secreted a bag containing 31.66 grams in his rear end.

When he couldn't remove it, he had to be taken to hospital, she said.

Findlay admitted being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Ms Love added: "He told officers he only did it because he was addicted to heroin."

Knox also told police she too had hidden a bag of cocaine internally. It contained 32.67 grams of cocaine.

Another bag containing 42.2 grams was found in her trouser leg.

Ms Love said the total maximum value of the drugs was £10,500.

Knox also admitted being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Sentence was deferred on both until May 15 for background reports and their bail was continued.

But Sheriff Macdonald told them: "The court will be considering a custodial sentence."
