Bright colours urged for celebration of life of Easter Ross community stalwart Marion Rhind of Saltburn

A CELEBRATION of the life of a much-loved Easter Ross community stalwart is to be staged today.

Marion Rhind died peacefully at her home in Saltburn on Saturday.

She was known by many in the community where she lived and involved down the years in many local initiatives set up for the greater good.

She was a great champion of the Invergordon Off the Wall project which looked after the town's stunning and sistinctive murals.

She is survived by her husband Sonny and children Rachel and Tina.

A celebration of her life is being held in Saltburn Woodland Walk today at 1pm before a private cremation.

A notice announcing details of the celebration said that "wearing of bright colours would be welcome".

Invergordon Community Council was amongst many paying tribute to the community-minded woman. It said: "Our sincere condolences to Sonny and the family, she was a great lady."

Family flowers only are requested but donations if wished may be made to Saltburn Woodland Walk or sent to Alasdair Rhind, funeral director of Bank Street in Tain.
