Eilean Donan Castle staff's fury at gloating tweet of Covid-19 face mask rule breaker; Twitter post followed earlier claim by visitor that they'd ignored coronavirus guidance

ONE of the west coast's most famous tourist attractions has warned those refusing to follow Covid-19 safety measures that they are "simply not welcome".

Eilean Donan Castle took to Twitter after one member of the public on the social media site claimed to have lied about a medical condition – so they could avoid wearing a face mask.

Branding the action deeply irresponsible, the famous castle's furious staff warned such people that they will "inadvertently end up killing others" if they fail to follow the rules, and urged them to give the site a miss if they were not prepared to do the right thing.

They were reacting to a now deleted post by "The Bolshevik Beekeeper" (@bolshevik­­_bee) which said: "Loo-stop at Eilean Donan Castle and as usual I refused to wear a mask. Cited (false) medical condition. Everyone wearing full PPE like it was a surgical operating theatre and I got to wear a special badge.

"This country has turned itself BONKERS."

"How has it comes to this?"

Responding, Eilean Donan Castle's Twitter account posted: "This is the type of irresponsible idiot that will inadvertently end up killing others. If you fall into this category, please just drive by Eilean Donan. As we move heaven & earth to keep our staff, our community and our visitors safe, you're simply not welcome..."

Reacting to the original post being deleted, the tourist attraction's account later added: "So apparently he’s now deleted the comment. A coward as well as an idiot."
