THE dedication and loyalty of a long-standing care home staff member have been recognised after she was handed a prestigious 20 year service award.

Sharon Whitham, a home administrator at Mo Dhachaidh in Ullapool, has worked at the care home for two decades.

She first stepped foot through the doors of the Barchester Healthcare site back in April 2000, and has worked continually with residents and their relatives to ensure their needs have been met over the years.

Jane McFarlane, employee services director at Barchester, said: “I’m always pleased to hear stories about the long service of Barchester staff and am delighted Sharon has achieved this milestone.

"It is dedication like this that ensures our residents are provided with a happy place to live.”

Andrew Jackson, general manager of Mo Dhachaidh said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 20 years of loyal service with Sharon. She has demonstrated her dedication and loyalty to this home and its residents year after year. I speak for all of us here at Mo Dhachaidh when I say that I’m looking forward to many more years of working with Sharon!”

Meanwhile, the care home is continuing to take admissions into its care home for those that need care in the next four weeks.

"We are playing our part in the wider care sector and supporting the NHS where possible," said a spokesman. "So please do give us a call on 01854 612280 if you are looking for care or need any further help."

Mo Dhachaidh care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals. Mo Dhachaidh provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care for 19 residents from respite care to long term stays.
