TRAFFIC is beginning to return to normal on the A9 following a crash between a lorry and car this morning.

The collisions, which involved a truck and a Seat car took place at around 11.20am near Alness and Rosskeen.

Traffic Scotland said the road was closed both ways for a time, causing heavy traffic in the area, but tweeted shortly after 12.30pm that the road had reopened.

A police spokesman said they had received no update on any injuries.
