CalMac launches new Stornoway to Ullapool summer ferry timetable

CalMac have officially launched their summer ferry timetable.

The ferry timetable runs from March 29 to September 30 of 2024, with timetables for October set to be published later in the year.

Although the timetable has been announced, passengers for the Ullapool–Stornoway route won't be able to book their tickets ahead of time until January 18, as a part of CalMac's phased booking system.

Pauline Blackshaw, director of strategy and change at CalMac, said: “I am pleased to confirm that summer timetables are now available, and I would like to thank our customers, communities and businesses for their patience.

“Timetables from 1 – 20 October will be published once deployment plans for our annual overhaul schedule for the winter 2024/25 period are confirmed. We are also working hard to finalise timetables for Islay and Colonsay and will update our customers and local communities as soon as we are able to do so.

“Launching our timetables on a phased basis allows us to share information with our customers so that they can begin planning and allows us to open bookings as quickly as possible. I would like to extend my thanks to our customers for their support.”

Summer ferry times from Monday to Friday are:

• Departing Stornoway at 7am, arriving in Ullapool for 9.40am.
• Departing Stornoway at 2pm, arriving in Ullapool for 4.40pm.
• Departing Ullapool at 10.30am, arriving in Stornoway for 1.10pm.
• Departing Ullapool at 5.30pm, arriving in Stornoway for 8.10pm.

Summer ferry times for Saturdays are:

• Departing Stornoway at 7am, arriving in Ullapool for 9.40am.
• Departing Stornoway at 3.30pm, arriving in Ullapool for 6.10pm.
• Departing Ullapool at 10.30am, arriving in Stornoway for 1.10pm.
• Departing Ullapool at 7pm, arriving in Stornoway for 9.40pm.

Summer ferry times for Sundays are:

• Departing Stornoway at 8am, arriving in Ullapool for 10.40am.
• Departing Stornoway at 3pm, arriving in Ullapool for 5.40pm.
• Departing Ullapool at 11.30am, arriving in Stornoway for 2.10pm.
• Departing Ullapool at 6.30pm, arriving in Stornoway for 9.10pm.

On Sunday July 21 only, CalMac will be operating on a different timetable for the Ullapool–Stornoway route. The timings are:

• Departing Stornoway at 6am, arriving in Ullapool for 8.40am.
• Departing Stornoway at 1pm, arriving in Ullapool for 3.40pm.
• Departing Stornoway at 8pm, arriving in Ullapool for 10.40pm.
• Departing Ullapool at 9.30am, arriving in Stornoway for 12.10pm.
• Departing Ullapool at 4.30pm, arriving in Stornoway for 7.10pm.

Fares for single tickets for adult passengers on the ferry start at £11.15, with child fares for ages 5–15 starting at £5.60 for children, with infants under 5 going free.
