Fortrose business says it has to close due to a power cut that was first reported before 9am this morning

A business in the Highlands has being forced to close due to a power cut.

Fortrose Cafe, one of a number of businesses on Fortrose High Street, said it has been forced to close for the day.

The power cut was first reported at 8.51am today, August 25 in the IV10 area.

A post on the cafe's Facebook page said: "Due to power failure on Fortrose High Street we are closed for the day.

A spokesman for Scottish and Southern Electricity Network, said: "We’re sorry for the loss of supply.

"We currently have a fault affecting the IV10 area.

"Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can. "If you need more information, please call us on 105 or send us a message on Facebook or Twitter (@ssencommunity) and quote reference 'HU0535'."
