ONLINE video chats have helped air cadets in Ross-shire to keep their lessons ‘flying’ during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cadets from 379 (County of Ross) Squadron have been busy on Microsoft Teams during the outbreak, after the Royal Air Force Air Cadets rolled out the software to all of its units around the country in order to keep them safe.

Cadets have also been busy studying and completing online training at home, further progressing their cadet career.

Flight Lieutenant David Anderson RAFAC, Commanding Officer of 379 (County of Ross) Sqn, said: “We’ve been able to join up with other squadrons online and take part in very special events such as a talk by a former Red Arrows pilot and a police officer from Aberdeen who is a former Alness Air Cadet. Some of these online presentations are from individuals who we would unlikely ever see in the Highlands so it’s great that we’ve quickly adopted an online presence. A number of our cadets have also passed some of their cadet classification exams online and it is great to see their commitment.”
