Highland Adventure Fest is expected to take place in Inverness Leisure Centre on Sunday, March 24.

And the event is expected to feature presentations and entertainment from outdoor enthusiasts, as well as demonstrations and live music.

The event is being advertised to those who have an interest in outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking among others.

Festival-goers will be able to try out kit, buy new clothing and equipment, book activities and meet new people with similar interests while enjoying presentations and entertainment on the main stage.

The mini festival is being planned by Inverness-based event organisers PLANIT Scotland and will be sponsored by the Glenmore Lodge in Aviemore.

Katie Masheter, from PLANIT Scotland, said: “We are organising the event because the Highlands are quite often seen as a bit of an adventure playground”.

Miss Masheter went on to say that although they are expecting mostly local people at the event they welcome tourists to come along also, she said: “VisitScotland’s recent tourism conference was placing emphasis on getting the country set-up for an influx of tourists looking for adventure, so what we thought would be great is to pull together an event which brings everyone under one roof.”

The event is open to all.
