In another exciting development for the local business community in Lochalsh and Skye, Kennedy Accountancy is hosting a business community open day.

Taking place at its offices in Lochalsh Business Park, Auchtertyre, Kyle of Lochalsh on Saturday, May 25, the event builds on its commitment to the local community provided by its Community Credits Scheme, which provides subsidised accountancy fees to local start up businesses.

The brainchild of owner Karen Kennedy CA, the event will comprise business masterclasses by renowned experts Rene Looper and Will Farnell, networking opportunities, local charity fundraising and family fun.

Karen said: “We know that like us, many small businesses can’t always access business events held further afield, so we decided to do something about it.

“We want to help make our local business community stronger and so we decided to hold an event here in Lochalsh and at the same time, raise money for two important local charities.”

The workshops will be a social media marketing masterclass by Rene Looper of Tuminds Social Media and ‘Building YOUR business YOUR way’ with Will Farnell.

Rene is well known for his focused business advice and marketing training and established one of the first organisations in Scotland to have realised the business potential of social media.

Will is a sought-after speaker, regularly presenting to national and international events, on the theme of building a business that works for you.

With an unusual background, from owning a record shop and band manager to accountancy guru and global speaker, he’ll cover the warts and all of running, growing and scaling a business, including the challenges that come with being a business owner.

As a family business, Kennedy Accountancy recognises the importance of ensuring younger members of the community are involved so there will be fun activities for kids, as well as food, refreshments and a raffle. Any money raised will be donated to Lucky2BHere and Skye and Lochalsh Mental Health Association.
