An Inverness restaurant was open as usual today following what was described as a "small fire" yesterday evening.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the alarm was raised at 9.27pm after the discovery of the blaze at Frankie & Benny's on the Inverness Retail and Business Park.

Two fire appliances were sent to Eastfield Way and they arrived at the scene of the fire at 9.33pm.

The spokesman confirmed it was a small fire in the kitchen area and the crews used a hose reel jet to douse the flames.

In addition two sets of breathing apparatus were worn and ventilation equipment was used to clear the smoke and fumes from the area.

They were able to leave the scene at 9.45pm.

Speaking today a spokesman from Frankie & Benny's confirmed that they were open as normal today and no one was hurt during the incident.
