Community stalwart Bob Shanks receives BEM for services to Seaforth Highlanders Regimental Association amongst other causes

THE "amazing" work of a volunteer has been recognised in Dingwall.

Bob Shanks was awarded the BEM for services to the Seaforth Highlanders Regimental Association and the community of Dingwall, Inverness and Culloden.

The presentation was made by Ross and Cromarty Lord Lieutenant Joanie Whiteford at Dingwall Museum.

Mr Shanks has been a key member of the Seaforth Highlanders Regimental Association for many years and chair since 2011.

He has also been heavily involved with the Highlander’s Museum at Fort George for many years.

He has also run numerous schemes aimed at helping young people.

Mrs Whiteford said: "Many congratulations Bob on receiving national recognition for all your amazing work."
