Maureen Ross is the new councillor for Highland Council's Tain and Easter Ross ward.
Maureen Ross is the new councillor for Highland Council's Tain and Easter Ross ward.

THE new councillor for Highland Council's Tain and Easter Ross ward has been declared.

Independent Maureen Ross was the clear choice of voters for the ward in which seven candidates stood.

She received 1022 first preference votes.

She joins Councillors Derek Louden (Scottish National Party) and Alasdair Rhind (Highland Independent) in representing the ward.

Ms Ross is well known as a community activist in the Seaboard villages.
