BREAKING: A9 closed near Invergordon after serious collision

The A9 is currently closed near Invergordon following a serious traffic accident, with police and ambulance currently at the scene.

The collision took place on the trunk road after 10.30am this morning between Tomich and Delny and diversions are in place at Alness and Kildary.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are currently dealing with a serious traffic accident on the A9 near Delny by Invergordon.

"Please avoid this section of road if you can. Diversions are in place at Alness and Kildary."
