Firefighters were called out to a blaze near Balintore Fire Station.

The alarm was raised at 8.37pm on Sunday and a total of four fire appliances – from Balintore, Fortrose and two from Dingwall – were sent to the scene which was in trees.

In a post on Twitter a spokesman said it was the third call of the weekend and added: "A land owner assisted by exposing deep seated fire with a digger."

They were able to leave the scene by 10.17pm once the fire was extinguished.
