Cromarty open gardens' inspiration for visitors to Black Isle town this weekend

THE Black Isle is the place to be for green-fingered gardening gurus this weekend.

Cromarty Open Gardens promises inspiration aplenty with art, floral displays, books and plants for sale and and refreshments thrown into the mix.

The community event showcases 32 gardens over the course of Saturday and Sunday.

The open gardens costs £5 per person with under 12s free of charge. Tickets, maps and a list of gardens can be found at The Hub, East Bellevue, Church Street and from the car park on The Links. Dedicated car parking for open garden visitors can be found on The Links.

The event is being flagged up as an opportunity for a day out in the Black Isle town.

The Art and Flowers display being held in Cromarty’s East Church.

Visitors are asked to bring cash.

pokeswoman Alison Palmer said: "The Open Gardens and the Art and Flowers display are big fundraising events. It is hoped that this year we will be able to better the £5600 raised last year – this amount was distributed between 10 local charities and organisations.

"We are extremely to the many local businesses, large and small, that provide generous sponsorship for these two events so please do give them your support."

The group can be found on Facebook as 'Cromarty Open Gardens'.
