Scottish Water has warned of disruption.

Water to several Black Isle communities could be cut off for several hours after a burst pipe interrupted supplies.

Scottish Water is advising that repairs and the full restoration of supplies could take until early afternoon after postcodes in Munlochy, Tore and Avoch reported disruption to the water network.

"We are currently repairing a burst water pipe which is causing the interruption to the water supply for customers in the IV8 Munlochy, IV6 Tore and IV9 Avoch areas," said a Scottish Water spokesperson shortly after 7am.

"While we carry out the repair please be aware that you may experience no water supply, low / intermittent pressure or discoloured water.

"The full repair will take an estimated three-and-a-half hours from now [at 7am] to complete.

"The water supply will gradually return to normal for customers once the repair has been completed. We expect it will take up to two hours for all customers to have normal water supply restored.

"At present we expect to complete the repair in a timeframe which means we do not plan to provide bottled at distribution locations."

The time given for the work, followed by the two hour window where supplies return to normal, means full service for some customers may not be restored until around 12pm or 12.30pm – depending on how well repairs progress.
