Motorcyclist airflifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after collision with Volvo car on road between Applecross and Lochcarron in Wester Ross; man suffered serious but 'not life-threatening' injuries, say police

A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Wester Ross.

The incident happened about noon on Sunday on an unclassified road between Applecross and Lochcarron.

It involved a red Ducati motorcycle and green Volvo V70.

The male biker was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said his injuries were not life-threatening.

The crash, about two miles from Applecross, resulted in the road being blocked for about six hours.
