Crime author Ian Rankin enjoying Cromarty retreat on Black Isle

A PRESTIGIOUS author is enjoying life at his Black Isle retreat.

One of the country’s best-selling crime writers, Ian Rankin, is enjoying the beauties of Cromarty and Ross-shire.

The author, who has owned a holiday house in the Black Isle village for a decade, has mentioned in previous interviews how he enjoys retiring to the Highland haven to switch off and find inspiration for his new novels.

The writer has also been a regular presence at the local Cromarty Crime and Thrillers Weekend.
