A boutique hotel in the Highlands has been singled out for an accolade by readers of a travel magazine published by an international media company.

Links House at Royal Dornoch has won a Condé Nast Traveler’s 2020 Reader’s Choice Award. The hotel has been selected as sixth best in the UK.

More than 715,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers submitted a huge number of responses rating their travel experiences across the globe.

The magazine’s US editor Jesse Ashlock said: “The winners represent the best of the best for our audience.”

Built in 1843 as the manse for the Free Church of Scotland, Links House has been extensively renovated and has a five-star rating.

It now offers a variety of luxury accommodation across three buildings: five deluxe rooms, eight luxury suites and two bespoke apartments – all decorated in the house’s original style and named after salmon rivers in the North Highlands.

Links House general manager Phil Scott said: “To say we are delighted with the news is an understatement!

“I wish to extend our warmest gratitude, to our worldwide family of guests who took the time to vote for us.”
