Final names added to Belladrum's festival line-up with Scottish pop legends Altered Images leading an eclectic mix
A final set of acts has been announced today for Belladrum which brings legends of Scottish pop, new exciting voices, and sounds that come from far away – or just sound like it! – to complete the variety of names completing the festival line-up this year.
Altered Images with singer Clare Grogan were the new wave/post-punk darlings of the early 80s with hits like Happy Birthday and I Could Be Happy. But they managed to combine chart success with effortless cool too, as Radio 1 DJ and indie music guru John Peel had a well-documented soft spot for Clare and the band.
Last December, they released their first new album in 38 years, Mascara Streakz, which entered the Top 30.
Also coming to Belladrum, are Dylan John Thomas – who sold out two nights at the Barrowlands – and another rising star, Katie Gregson-MacLeod's Highland tour support singer-songwriter Bonnie Kemplay.
A special Scottish hero Colin Macintyre returns with Mull Historical Society, while there's a chance to catch up with another much-loved Scottish indie act, Broken Records.
An act you will be name-dropping any time soon if you haven't already checked them out are Australia's Little Quirks.
While one you CAN check out – as they will feature in Karawane's next night at Eden Court on Saturday, June 10 – is the unforgettably-named Latina Turners who have an Afrobeat/ Caribbean vibe.
