March 2019: Demolition of the fire-ravaged Eastgate Hostel in Inverness begins following a long-running campaign by the Inverness Courier.

In the early hours of April 3 2013, 54 people had been forced to flee the building as a fierce blaze took hold.

Fortunately, no one was injured. but it heralded the start of a long-running saga as the badly damaged building remained a blot on the cityscape in the years which followed.

As work finally began on taking down the building six years after the blaze, the scene was captured by Highland News & Media photographer Gary Anthony, who often captured the changing face of Inverness.
