A Beauly shop has reached the finals of a The Greats Gift Retailer Awards 2024, which recognise and reward the UK's very best gift retailers from right across the retail spectrum.

The Old School Beauly is a finalist in the independent Scottish gift retailer of the year category.

The store is owned and managed by husband and wife team, Helen and William Crawford, with a mix of bricks and mortar retail through their Beauly shop and website, which lists over 9,000 of their products.

Helen said: “These awards are special because they reflect the views of the retail sector as a whole. We have previously won the award of best gift retailer in Scotland and we would dearly love to take that award home to Beauly again.

"Beauly deserves all the recognition it gets because our thriving High Street is down to the creativity, hard work and talent of our many traders from our shops, to our hairdressers, beautician, guest houses, hotels, and many excellent eateries. Beauly is well and truly open for business and it is a pleasure to be part of that.”

William added: “The mix of online and the shop has been increasingly important to make sure the business is robust. While some customers are happy to browse and buy on our website, there are those who absolutely value coming into the shop, touching and feeling the products, and being acknowledged.

"That social aspect is crucial for us. It’s great to be shortlisted again and I do hope we can bring the award back to Beauly for a second time.”

All winners will be revealed at The Gift Awards taking place at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on May 16.
