AN Easter Ross community group took an unusual delivery this week – a mother bear with her cub.

Volunteers with the Seedlings Community Garden Project in Invergordon have transformed an area of wasteland into a pleasant public space.

A group of residents in the Fraser Road, Macdonald Road, Rosskeen Drive and Mains Avenue area of the town got the project started last year.

They are set to add a wooden carving made by Iain Chalmers of Chainsaw Creations.

He has made a mother bear with cub which is now ready to be installed.

The group said: "It's unbelievable the talent Iain has. Once we have the materials to secure it, it will be placed in the garden."

It was paid for through a Beinn Tharsuinn wind farm grant.

The group also plans planting trees and flowers.
