NINE months of fundraising for a charity has paid off with thousands being raised to fund opportunities for children to receive life-changing therapy.

The charity Dream, Believe, Achieve is almost £5000 richer this week after a team of four men took on a series of nine challenges, including their final event which saw them cycle 500 miles in one day.

Nicco Tough, who set up the events, was inspired to do so, after hearing of the work of the charity through friends, and seeing the real difference it could make to children’s lives.

Mr Tough, who owns Nicco’s Fitness and Nutrition in Muir of Ord, was joined on all nine challenges by fellow athletes Liam Barry, Grant Thompson and Garry Finlayson.

“A tremendous thank you to everybody who came in over the event with donations, food, caffeine, water.

“Your money will go straight to children who can’t receive funding for therapy to help with their disabilities.

“We’ve finished our races for this year and we’re unofficially at £4630 raised with more expected to come in.”

Steff Douglas, who set up the charity with husband Kris said: “We can’t thank Nicco and his team enough.

“Since March Nicco and his team have done incredible, not for the faint hearted, events. It makes our eyes water even thinking about them.”
