'Angel of the Far North' spotted by postman

Bettyhill-based postman Mark Gilbert, a columnist with sister paper the Northern Times and a keen photographer, took this stunning shot at Torrisdale Bay.

Mr Gilbert was struck by the massive pink and red cloud formation which reminded him of an angel.

He said: “I have called the picture the Angel of the Far North”.

A mile-long beach, Torrisdale Bay is reached by a walk from Invernaver.

It is located between Torrisdale and Bettyhill.
