THEY might have struggled to settle on a name but members of a triumphant Wester Ross quiz team came up with the goods during a hotly contested competition.

For the last four years, Gairloch Heritage Museum has organised a series of pub quizzes during the winter months to raise funds for their new facility in an historic former anti-aircraft operations room in the village.

The quizzes are held each month between November and March in local pubs and restaurants and continue to become increasingly popular with the local community.

At the end of the series, an overall winning team is gifted the treasured Museum Cup.

The final quiz in its 2018-2019 series saw no fewer than 17 teams come together at the Old Inn in Gairloch to quiz it out for the winning spot – raising an impressive £3000 in the process.

The quiz series raises impressive funds to continue the great work the Museum is doing for the area. This time, they raised over £3,000.

All involved in the organisation are over the moon with how incredible the turn out is for each quiz. The quizzes have certainly become an event the community look forward to each year when things quiet down after the summer period.

The winning team for the Gairloch & District Pub Quiz Challenge were Quiz Name Pending, who attended all 5 quizzes and continued to gain high points from each quiz.

The museum hopes to continue with the pub quiz challenge next winter.
