ALNESS construction firm Pat Munro has received planning consent for the erection of 19 houses and the installation of drainage infrastructure for further housing on a site to the north of Old Milnafua Road.

The development is the first phase of 68 houses programmed for the site located around Milnafua House and opposite Obsdale Primary School.

The development lies on agricultural land immediately to the east of the recently completed Newfield North housing site where 90 houses have been built over the past ten years. The proposed 19-house development has a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties and includes detached and semi-detached houses, including two-storey and single-storey designs.

The layout proposed involves a new access road from Old Milnafua Road as well as a connecting link road from the Newfield North housing development to the west.

The application also includes the reconstruction of Old Milnafua Road/Birch Road along the site frontage and the installation of surface water infrastructure to serve the wider 68 house development.
