ODx Innovations has gone into administration.

Administrators are calling on buyers with an interest in ODx Innovations to get in touch.

This comes after it was reported that 38 employees were made redundant at the company after administrators were appointed to the business just before Christmas.

Duncan Raggett of AAB and Seamas Keating of FPM Accountants Limited, were appointed joint administrators of ODx Innovations Limited on 19 December 2022, by the directors of the company.

A small number of employees have been retained by the joint administrators to preserve and protect the company’s assets whilst a marketing process is undertaken.

Duncan Raggett, joint administrator, said: “I appreciate this is extremely difficult for the employees, particularly at this time of year.

“The directors did everything they could to keep the business afloat but unfortunately the company did not have the funds to continue and as a result administration was unavoidable.

“We shall be doing our utmost to provide the employees the information and support they need to be able to claim monies due to them from the Government’s Redundancy Payments Service.

“The company has developed ground-breaking technology that has the potential to help people all around the world. The joint administrators will be working around the clock to find a purchaser for the business and assets that will secure a future for the great work done to date by the company.

“We would encourage anyone with any interest in the company’s business and assets, to make contact with our office as a matter of urgency.”

ODx is a medical technology company based in Inverness focused on transforming the speed at which antibiotic sensitivity tests are performed for patients with suspected Urinary Tract Infections (UTI). They aim to bring ground-breaking microbiological technology to patients as soon as possible so that optimal treatment can be delivered on the day that counts.

ODx’s first product is aimed at helping health care professionals treat urinary tract infections. UTI infections cause 1.6m deaths globally due to antibiotic resistant bacteria. Many people suffering from CV19 die as a result of complications arising from antibiotic resistant infections.

The ODx test can help decide whether treatment is needed or not, reducing antibiotic use. If treatment is needed, it can help medical staff choose the most effective antibiotic within an hour, instead of waiting 2-3 days for a test result.
