9 days of overnight delays in store when works begin on A9 at Daviot junction near Inverness

Essential improvement works on the A9 near Inverness are set to begin on Tuesday for nine nights.
The resurfacing and road markings work on the southbound carriageway either side of Daviot junction will bring overnight lane closures.
BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s north-west trunk road operating company, will start the work at 7pm on April 16 and expects it to be complete by 6am on April 27.
No work will take place over the weekend of April 20 and 21.
To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, overnight lane closures will be put in place on both the southbound and northbound carriageways, with a convoy system.
The central crossovers at both the Daviot (west) and Daviot (east) junctions will also be closed during the works.
Motorists wishing to leave the Daviot (west) junction will be able to head southbound via the central crossover and northbound motorists wishing to turn right into the B9154 Daviot (east) junction will be diverted northbound on the A9 to the Milton of Leys Junction.
They should then follow the diversion signs, taking the third exit at the roundabout before travelling along the B9177 underneath the A9, take the first exit at the next roundabout and then rejoin the A9 southbound and continue on their journey.
Motorists wishing to join the northbound carriageway from the B9154 Daviot (east) junction will be led through the closure when safe to do so by a Traffic Management operative.
During non-working hours, the temporary traffic management measures will be lifted.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
