UPDATE (8pm): THE A9 has reopened to traffic on part of the Black Isle following an earlier road crash involving a campervan and motorbike.

The road was closed both ways near Duncanston following the collision at around 1.30pm.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene of the crash, which occurred at the B9169 Culbokie junction.

One person was taken to Raigmore Hospital. There was no information on their condition.

Motorists had been advised to use an alternative route and diversions were put in place via Dingwall. However, Traffic Scotland later announced that there had been "a secondary road traffic collision" on the diversion route and warned drivers to expect delays.

No details were released as to the nature of this second collision, on the A835, but Traffic Scotland added that police were on the scene.

The A9, meanwhile, reopened to traffic by 6.30pm.
