A9 crash appeal: Police seek dashcam footage of BMW and HGV involved in collision near Invergordon

A woman is in a critical condition and a man was left with serious injuries after a crash on the A9 near Invergordon on Tuesday.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which involved a car and a lorry at Delny Muir. It happened at around 10.30am.

Road policing officers said the passenger of the car, a 56-year-old woman, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where she remains in a critical condition. The driver, a 22-year-old man, was also taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

The driver of the lorry was not injured.

The road was closed while investigations were carried out and fully reopened around 6.30pm.

Road Policing Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Enquiries into exactly what happened are ongoing and I’d urge anyone who saw the crash, and hasn’t already spoken to police, to get in touch.

“Motorists with dashcam footage of the area at the time, please review this. I’m particularly keen to trace any footage of the black BMW 318 or the silver MAN HGV before the crash. If you’ve captured this, please bring it to our attention.”
