A BUSY trunk road in Wester Ross is partially blocked in both directions following an accident, Traffic Scotland has said.

In an update shortly after 4.30pm, the transport agency said: "The A87 is partially blocked east and westbound at Kintail Lodge due to a road traffic incident."

There was no immediate word on what vehicles were involved or if there were any injuries.

However, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they were not currently in attendance.

Police have been approached for further details.

Google map's live traffic map was showing slow moving traffic extending past the Glenshiel Campsite in one direction and Clachan Duich Bridge in the other.
