A835 north of Ullapool reopens after snow clearance effort – but several other north Highland routes remain closed

A ROSS-SHIRE route closed by drifting snow has reopened again – but several other routes remain closed.

The drifting snow has been cleared from the A835 north of Ullapool on the stretch between Drumrunie and Ledmore Junction, according to Highland Council.

The road was reopened at 11:30am.

The following roads remain closed:

Bealach and A832 (Fain) remain closed.

A836 Lairg to Tongue closed.

A837 Ledmore Junction to Lochinver is blocked by drifting snow between Ledmore and Inchnadamph

A894 Skiag Bridge to Kylesku is closed due to drifting snow

A897 Helmsdale to Melvich is closed due to drifting snow

B9167 Struie Road between Evanton and Ardgay is "not advised" due to drifting snow

An excavator is being used on the B9167 Ardgay to Ardross road for a period today to allow the removal of drifted snow.

Highland Council reports a mix of conditions today with wet and icy roads, a covering of snow and "extensive heavy drifting in places".
