The Highland Council have warned of 'deep drifting' on the Wester Ross A832 road after heavy snowfall this week.

The Fain road between Braemore and Dundonnell is said to have seen very heavy snow, and now has 'deep drifting', according to the council.

They have advised to avoid travel on this route altogether.

The heavy snow seen across the Highlands has also resulted in more than 9000 pupils affected by school and nursery closures today, January 18.

The severe conditions have also resulted in road, rail and air transport disruption.
