A power cut has hit 68 properties in Easter Ross.

The homes and businesses just south-east of Tain, near Loch Eye, Hill of Fearn and Arabella, lost electricity at about 11.37 am today.

Power giant SSEN says it has engineers on site and, after initial investigations, hopes to have the heat and light back on by 3pm today.

The firm blamed a fault in the overhead line affecting a large area of the countryside.
