40mph wind forecast sparks CalMac ferry disruption warning for Stornoway-Ullapool service

FERRY passengers looking to cross the Minch tomorrow afternoon have been warned to check sailings after CalMac said strong winds might lead to "disruption or cancellation at short notice".

The alert relates to the 3pm sailing from Stornoway to Ullapool. At the time of writing, no other crossing was covered by the warning.

A CalMac spokesman said: "The 3pm [Sunday] sailing departing Stornoway is liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice due to adverse weather.

"This is in relation to a forecast of north-easterly winds in excess of 40mph and associated sea conditions."
