A £3 million project to upgrade over 10km of water mains serving communities on the Black Isle has been completed.

The Scottish Water work will ensure customers around the Eathie, Davidston and Peddieston areas continue to receive clear, fresh water for years to come and reduces the chances of bursts on the network.

The project, which began at the start of 2023, was delivered by Scottish Water’s alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) and contractor Pat Munro.

Project manager Rachel Zhang said: “This investment by Scottish Water will deliver a more reliable service for customers in the area by reducing the chances of bursts on the network.

“We hope the delivery of the work did not impact residents too much, although we appreciate the need for some traffic management measures and planned interruptions to supply as work progressed will have caused some short-term inconvenience.

“We would like to thank customers for their patience while we completed this essential upgrade work.”
