2 vehicle crash 'restricts busy Highland trunk road in both directions'

UPDATE: Vehicles recovered after A835 collision

Traffic Scotland has warned motorists to expect delays after a two-vehicle crash on the A835 Tore-Ullapool trunk road near Conon Bridge.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 3.49pm to reports of a two-car collision on the road.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that it sent one fire engine to the scene, but that it was able to leave at 4.18pm after briefly assisting police and ambulance staff.

There was no immediate word as to whether anyone was injured.

Traffic Scotland has confirmed that the road was "restricted in both directions" and urged motorists to "use caution on approach".

The police have been approached for further details.
