A SURGE in the number of campervans visiting the area following the success of the NC500 has sparked plans for a chemical toilet disposal point in a Ross-shire village.

Plans have been submitted for a chemical toilet disposal point at Inver Village Hall.

Fearn Community Council is behind the proposal.

The disposal point will be attached to a 3800-litre shallow dig septic tank to collect the blackwater waste.

An adjacent greywater disposal point will also be installed, featuring a washable concrete hardstanding and tapered drainage bay, which will be connected to the sewer mains.

"Due to the increase of campervans visiting the Highlands to tour the NC500 and surrounding areas we propose to install chemical toilet and greywater disposal points adjacent to Inver Community Hall," said the applicants in supporting information submitted to Highland Council.
