Williamson to compete in Cyprus at International Box Cup

Alness boxer Adian Williamson is set to test himself against top boxers from across Europe in Cyprus this weekend.

The Inverness City Boxing Club athlete will be competing at the International Box Cup in Limassol.

He is part of a three-man squad from the club along with Inverness fighters Callum Turnbull and George Stewart who will compete in the three-day competition.

Athletes from across Europe and North Africa will be taking part in the competition.

Williamson will be competing in the junior section of the tournament.

Stewart will be taking part in the youth section and Turnbull will be fighting in the senior competition.

Inverness City head coach Laurie Redfern says it is a prestigious tournament for his boxers to be fighting in.

He is keen to see how the trio will fare on the international stage against top talent from other nations.
