Their first home game will then take place the following week against St Johnstone, who were relegated from the Premiership alongside Ross County.

With two fewer league matches to complete compared to the Premiership, the festive period will not be as hectic as in previous years, with County again hosting St Johnstone on Saturday, December 27 before kicking off the new year away at Dunfermline on Saturday, January 3.

To end the regular season, the Staggies will travel to Kirkcaldy to take on Raith Rovers on Friday, May 1.

It is Ross County’s first season in Scotland’s second-tier since the 2018/19 campaign, when County lifted both the Challenge Cup and Championship trophies.

On that occasion, the league season kicked off with a 1-0 home win over Alloa Athletic, who had just been promoted from League One.

Since then, County have had a mixed record on the opening day, recording two wins, two draws and two losses.
