MANAGER Don Cowie says he was disappointed Ross County didn’t deal with conceding the first goal well enough which resulted in a 3-0 defeat against Dundee United at Tannadice.

After a goalless first half, Dundee United broke the deadlock in the 57th minute with a strike from Luca Stephenson.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 68th minute through Sam Dalby before teenager Owen Stirton scored in injury time to earn United all three points.

The defeat means the Staggies are in ninth place on 12 points, four points above Hibernian who are bottom of the table on eight.

Cowie says after an even first half, was disappointed with the manner how County lost the game in the second half.

He said: “I am really disappointed as I thought the first half was a really even game.

“I was really happy with the performance at half time. It is then about coming out in the second half and we knew that they would try and get momentum..

“I thought we did that for the first 10 minutes, so to concede the first goal in the manner we did was disappointing.

“But that is football and it is about dealing with the adversity of conceding the first goal and we didn’t deal with it good enough.

“Goals are important as they change momentum and the feeling of the team that gets the goal.

“Credit to Dundee United for getting that, but you need to react and respond to that and that is the real disappointment.

“The boys will be down but it is my role to pick them up and we will look at the game and look at what we can do better.

“We will train for a few days and look forward to an important game against Motherwell.”
