The Stags have three games remaining and are 10 points behind North Police who only have two matches remaining both against the Invergordon outfit.

Chris Watt scored two tries with one conversion from John Mann as Ross Sutherland trailed 14-12 at half time.

Alastair Kennedy and Matthew Robinson scored tries to give Ross Sutherland a bonus point as the game looked to be heading for a draw.

But Aberdeenshire grabbed three points through the posts to seal their promotion to Caledonia One.

Ross Sutherland picked up another bonus point for losing less than seven points.

Their next match is against Highland 2nd XV in Inverness on Saturday, March 21 who can win the league with just one point.

Failure to pick up any points in the next game will require Ross Sutherland to pick up bonus points victories in the final two games against North Police, without conceding any bonus points to avoid relegation to Caledonia North Three next season.
