A large crowd turned out to watch the first Inver v Tain Thistle derby of the summer on Saturday, and the teams did not disappoint — serving up a 12-goal thriller.
Contesting their final pre-split match under the auspices of the North-west Sutherland league, both sides were looking for a win that could keep them in contention for this summer’s league title.
In a game of two halves, Inver took a 4-1 lead in at half time, but a second half surge saw Thistle run out 7-5 winners.
The win sends Tain to the top of the league table, with four games left to play.
Off the field, the teams worked together to raise funds for mental health support charity Mikeysline, collecting a sum of £182.65 on the day.
