Avoch footballer Rachel McLauchlan is celebrating another trophy after Rangers won the Scottish Cup last weekend.

The 26-year-old was raised in the Highlands, starting her journey to the top of women’s football with Inverness City, now known as Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Currently sitting on 17 caps for Scotland, McLauchlan has spent the last three years as a full-time professional at Rangers, helping the club to their first ever Scottish Women’s Premier League title in 2022.

Last weekend though, she was able to help the Glasgow giants to another historic first as they lifted the Scottish Cup.

Going up against Hearts at Hampden Park, McLauchlan opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a thunderbolt from 30 yards out that whistled right into the top corner.

Lizzie Arnot would then make it 2-0 in the closing stages to ensure that McLauchlan would get her hands on the trophy for the fifth time in her career, after three triumphs with Hibernian and one with Glasgow City.
